Continuing Learning and Community Service Unit to become ICDL accredited training and testing center
Kuwait, October 1, 2014 – The Arab Open University-Kuwait (AOU), a locally and globally accredited academic institution, has recently entered into a strategic partnership with ICDL Arabia, the governing body and certification authority for the ICDL certificate program in Egypt, the GCC States and Iraq. Under the terms of the agreement, the university’s Continuing Learning and Community Service Unit have become an officially accredited center for training and testing for ICDL certification.
The AOU has been chosen as ICDL Arabia’s strategic partner because of its active role in the dissemination of digital literacy and IT knowledge among students and Kuwaiti society, through integration of the latest technology and innovations within the educational process. Kuwait, October 28, 2013 – Epson has announced that it will unveil select products that have the potential to boost classroom technology to enhance the learning experience at Kuwait EDUTECH 2013, the latest edition of the biggest educational event dedicated to the development of Kuwait’s education sector. This marks the fourth consecutive year that Epson is joining the show, which will place on October 29 and 30 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Kuwait.
Epson has hand-picked the EB-485Wi Interactive Projectors, Ink Tank System (ITS) Printers and the GT-1500 Scanner to be showcased at the event. EB-485Wi Interactive Projectors, the world’s shortest throw, fully-integrated interactive projector, is expected to be the biggest draw due to its suitability to classroom environments. Update to learning profiles to help users adapt to dynamic changes in technology & customize their learning
Kuwait, April 14, 2014 – Hosted by Kuwait University – Khawarizmy Centre, ICDL GCC Foundation, an organisation that promotes digital skills and cyber safety across the Gulf region and Iraq, announced the launch of its New ICDL Profile certification programmes. Representatives from more than 60 organizations and accredited centers in Kuwait have attended the event. The event aimed to receive orientation on the new certification programme and it will affect the over million candidates enrolled and newcomers. Kuwait, March 24 2012 – HE Dr Modhi Abdul Aziz Alhmoud, Minister of Education and Higher Education, explains that to date, most education policies in the Arab world have focused on providing education for everyone. This needs to change to include a policy of quality education too. She believes that students need to be equipped with knowledge, technical skills and life skills and to be taught values that include love for one’s country, tolerance, and acceptance of others’ opinions. She highlights the need for planning and equipment and stresses the importance of teacher training as the basis for any reform. She also points out that educational transformation would require the support of the state, as well as transparency and supervision.
